Genuine Prayer and Faith

Reading emails from those receptive to the thoughts I offer here on mycorrectview just nourishes life. The world is just a better place because of people who long to understand the realization at which Science, Philosophy and even religion now intersect. Conversely, it is impeded by those who are too pigheaded and choose to ignore this and accept “reality” as real.

These were the same folks who, after reading The Reality of Truth, wrote me and said “You're underestimating the importance of our senses. It lets us discover God and communicate with Him in prayer". I can handle the aspersion fine. It is merely a result of either deficient intellect or gross misinterpretation. But what gets my goat is the comment on prayer or faith.

Far be it from me to talk about this huge and touchy topic, but this you should know....

For prayer and faith to be real, for it to lead you to the truth of your being...the last thing you need is your senses. While they enable you to feel and experience this world, they’ve been deceiving you all this time and are keeping you from seeing reality. If you don’t understand this deception, read the entry again. (If you think I am not a credible source or you need something better, that’s fine...I’d even recommend a few books. But let me warn you that what I’ve written is as layman as you can find. It saves you from having to understand and decode equations of Physicists.)

Relying on senses strengthens the illusion of separation: that what’s happening around you, the people and objects you see, the time it takes from point A to point B is without you, outside of you. As a result, you classify thing as good, bad, more, less, reward or punishment. And because you do not realize that you are creating as you are observing through your lens that include your frailties, the world becomes as you label it. Unknowingly, you have brought judgment upon yourself and suffer damnation long before the feared Apocalypse. You have created God in your own image.

This illusion is the original sin.

But the good news is you do not have to continue to bite the apple. Ancient texts of pristine, unedited version found in the Temples of Tibet as well as recent findings of science tell, in perfect harmony, of reality and how to correctly relate to this reality.

Although the terms they use are different, sacred texts including The Bible are saying the same thing: this world is merely a reflection or an extension of a perfect world called heaven or paradise which is made of Spirit. Your bodies let you experience this world to have a glimpse of and aspire for paradise which you can reach through prayer (not one of these texts say you must experience physical death to experience paradise). Now by prayer, they refer NOT to the ritual or bunch of words you say but a profound state of nothingness to feel paradise! Along the way, however, your body has deceived you into thinking that this world is all there is.

Now that’s so well-matched with Science! In the next entries I’ll give you the details but the parallelism with religion starts with what forms the universe. Physicists have long proven that nothing you see is really solid or what it seems. This is not a universe of matter but one of non-matter or energy. Everything comes or happens from the field of infinite potential called Quantum Field. This field reacts and responds in accordance to the mind that is observing it.

To fuse these statements of science and religion, the body or matter or the world exists in parallel or as an extension or reflection of the mind, energy or heaven, respectively. To reach the spirit from which matter comes or to have an effect on the quantum field, one has to go to the depths of the mind or be in prayer. Simply put, to have an effect on the chair you’re sitting on, you have to control the very thoughts that make you think you are sitting on it because these thoughts form the chair.

The importance of faith as you pray is best summed up in Mark 11:24 of the Bible “When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it and you will have whatever you pray for.” Jesus was a political target but he’s no politician. What He said was categorical, in a manner that cannot be interpreted otherwise and yet, ironically, Christians do not get it. Some think that such a verse was a figure of speech. Others mask their lack of faith by thanking heavens in advance for giving them what they pray for.

But Buddhists, especially their monks, get this! For all the humming and gongs and the rest of bells and whistle, nothing about this is their prayer! In Triptika, they are taught to pray by feeling the feelings that their prayer is already happening, not as if it is happening. It is one that subsists as they go through each day of their lives. Their prayer is the feeling they feel in their prayerful lives.

Words are not enough describe my happiness to have met people who are searching for the truth. Although I write on spirituality with ease, I’d be lying if I claimed I am heads and shoulders above you. Like you, I am in pursuit of transcending this world to understand the perfect one. And it is not a cakewalk! Because I too am made of my preconceived notion that I’ve formed from the “original sin”, I have to constantly consciously remind myself to break my old paradigm.

But I know we will see through our quest if we stay the course and have faith. Faith that our true selves as beings of light are manifesting in actuality from thought. In physical from our spiritual being. In matter from energy.

On Earth as it is in Heaven.
